In an industry often skeptical of “influencers,” Jomar Lozaro — better known as the content creator Ultm8 X — just proved that his trading skills are as real as his follower count.
Lozaro was crowned the champion of the first-ever crypto trading competition in the Philippines, The Grand Cup 2025, organized by Crypto Esports League PH. But for Lozaro, raising the trophy was more about validation than money.

The Final Showdown: Betting Against “Daddy Em”
The climax of the tournament saw Lozaro face off against DaddyEm, a formidable and popular trader and creator.
During the final match, Lozaro opened a long position, betting the market would go up. In a bold move, his opponent, DaddyEm, initiated a short position, betting against the market.
Lozaro told BitPinas that despite the pressure of the finals, he didn’t second-guess his strategy.
“I really disregarded the position of DaddyEm. I did my setup, I did my trade, and somehow it paid off. I ended up with a 100% win rate throughout the competition. I am happy for that one.”

When the market moved in his favor and he was declared the winner, the emotions hit him all at once.
Why He Was the “Underdog”
On paper, Lozaro looks like a heavy favorite. Just weeks prior (Dec 5–11, 2025), he dominated the “10X Trading Competition” hosted by Bitget, turning $500 into $1,719.
However, he entered The Grand Cup as an underdog for one specific reason: the stigma attached to content creators. In the trading community, creators are often dismissed as mere marketers who can’t actually trade profitably.
“As a content creator, I do my live streams and I do tutorials. However, there were still people who doubt us. We were giving our content for free and yet they are skeptical. So at least this, somehow, proves that we as content creators have something to share.”

Lozaro revealed that he wasn’t even originally supposed to join the contest. Stepping into the arena and eventually winning was his way of proving that his passion for trading is genuine.
Advice for Aspiring Traders: “Don’t Trust the Hype”
When asked what advice he has for new traders, here’s what Lozaro has to say:
“Number one, you should follow me on social media. I want to grow as well in terms of my followers, my subscribers, and all.”
But turning serious, he emphasized a critical lesson for the web3 generation: Vetting your sources.
Lozaro prides himself on being transparent with his audience, even discussing the downsides of projects he collaborates with. He warned new traders to be wary of influencers who flash luxury items but hide their identities:
“When those content creators are not even doxxed, when they are not even showing their faces… how would you trust them? Do not just base it on the hype because of what they flex, like a Lamborghini or whatnot.”
He urged the public to look for non-anonymous creators and to explore the industry beyond just trading:
“You can participate in airdrops, in play-to-airdrop campaigns, in DeFi… You can also find a job such as moderating events or game testing. You need to dive in and do your part, for this is an industry that needs to be explored.”
What is Next for Ultm8 X?
Fresh off his victory, Lozaro plans to continue his mission of education through livestreams and tutorials.
He also expressed strong interest in supporting Crypto Esports League PH’s 2026 plans for campus tours. However, he noted the logistical challenge, as he is based in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur. He hopes to find support from the organization to bridge that distance so he can help mentor the next generation of student traders:
“The crypto esports league is a good avenue for people who trade in their rooms alone… It is a good avenue for people to showcase their skills.”
Lozaro believes this is just the beginning for crypto esports in the Philippines.
“Being first in there and a champion in here really proves something. As a content creator here in the Philippines, it proved something that we are passionate in terms of what we do, especially for trading.”
