Bitcoin Funds Stabilize After 2 Heavy Days of Redemptions

The week ended with a quieter tone, but the underlying flow picture remained uneven.

Bitcoin ETFs attracted $21.13 million, led by a $22.38 million inflow into Blackrock’s IBIT. Vaneck’s HODL added $2.33 million, while Fidelity’s FBTC lost $3.58 million. Trading value fell to $1.44 billion, and net assets recovered to $105.84 billion.

The smaller inflow matters mainly because it broke the recent run of heavy selling. After nearly $1 billion left bitcoin and ether ETFs across Wednesday and Thursday combined, Friday suggested that institutional pressure may be easing at the margin.

For bitcoin’s price, the next question is whether that stabilization can develop into renewed accumulation.

Ether Outflow Streak Reaches 9 Sessions

Ether ETFs continued to struggle.

The category lost $56.10 million, extending its outflow streak to nine consecutive sessions. The full withdrawal came from Blackrock’s ETHA. Trading activity dropped to $595.23 million, while net assets closed at $15.71 billion.

The persistence of the selling is now more important than the size of any single session. Ether has faced a sustained reduction in institutional exposure while bitcoin has at least managed to attract intermittent buying.

That widening divergence remains one of the clearest themes in the current crypto ETF market.

NEAR Keeps Drawing Capital as Solana Slips

NEAR ETFs continued to find buyers, despite the uneven market trend.

Bitwise’s NRR attracted $5.13 million, lifting net assets to $66.07 million. The product continues to stand out among newer single-asset ETFs for its ability to attract capital during otherwise soft sessions.

Solana moved in the opposite direction. Bitwise’s BSOL recorded a $3.76 million outflow, leaving category net assets at $1.73 billion.

XRP, HYPE and Zcash ETFs all finished the day without net flows. The muted activity across those categories reinforced the selective nature of Friday’s market.

Bitcoin Demand Still Needs a Stronger Catalyst

Glassnode’s latest analysis added useful context to the ETF picture.

The firm noted that existing holders appear to be doing much of the work behind the current bitcoin rally, while new capital from ETFs, stablecoins and corporate treasuries has slowed.

That pattern resembles earlier phases of the 2024 and 2025 advances, though those periods were supported by much stronger fresh inflows.

The implication is straightforward. Bitcoin can continue to rise on tighter supply and conviction from existing holders, but a broader and more durable advance would likely benefit from a renewed pickup in new money.

Friday’s ETF data offered a first hint of stabilization. It did not yet deliver the kind of demand surge that would confirm a fresh institutional leg higher.
